I am Opio Nicholas 38 years old, living in Uganda and Ugandan by Nationality, a social worker, founder and mentor to Awake Youth Relief Agency (AYRA) since 2012.

I have worked as Program Manager through advocacy, spearheading humanitarian agendas in efforts to shape the actions of climate change in a demanding environment.

I try to be a positive force in changing mindset thinking as situations as arise negatively most of which are human induced such as conflicts, wars, crop destructions, food insecurity, poverty, poor health care, poor education systems, unsupported girl child education which may result from failure to provide sanitary services such as pads.

These are backed by natural calamities such as pests and diseases, dry spells, flooding, foot and mouth infections, nagana in animals and many more – most of which can be controlled by the government.

Some of these are sometimes planned for but swapped by minority groups. This therefore escalates climate effects and thus I am calling for hunger striking and will participate myself.
